SpikeTrendWatch is an independent global news and search-intelligence service. Every hour it reads public search-trend data from 172 countries and the latest reporting from 69 established newsrooms and official sources, and shows, in one place, what the world is searching, the stories behind it, and the alerts that matter.
What we are
SpikeTrendWatch is a data aggregator. We do not write news stories. Every headline, picture and video shown here belongs to its original publisher or creator, is shown with its source named, and links to the original. Our own work is the measurement layer: the Pulse score, the alert levels, the country and topic desks, the World Pulse Report and World Weather.
Editorial standards
Sources. We read established newsrooms with professional editorial standards and their own corrections processes, including BBC News, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, France 24, DW, Euronews, NPR, Sky News, Africanews, The Hindu, ABC News Australia, the South China Morning Post, The Times of Israel, MercoPress, UN News, ReliefWeb, The Haitian Times, Dominican Today, the Jamaica Gleaner and Jamaica Observer, CBS Sports, BBC Sport, Sky Sports, The Guardian Sport, Variety, Deadline, Billboard, The Verge, TechCrunch and BBC Business, plus official travel advisories from the U.S. Department of State and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Search-trend data comes from public trend feeds.
Ranking is automatic and the same for everyone. The Pulse (0–100) combines search volume, how many countries a topic is trending in, and how long it has lasted. Alert levels are assigned by fixed rules: red for conflict, disruption or scandal, yellow for topics heating fast, green for normal growth. Countries rank by how serious and how widely covered their news is, not by volume alone.
Independence. Advertisers, sponsors and partners have no influence over what is shown, how it is ranked or how it is labelled. Advertising is always clearly marked “Advertisement”.
No generated news. We do not publish machine-written articles. Headlines appear exactly as their publishers wrote them. The brief on each spike page is built only from our own measurements (countries, timing, Pulse and rank), never by rewriting anyone's reporting. See How we rank and Our sources.
Corrections
If a headline is attached to the wrong country, a label is wrong, or anything on the site is inaccurate, email contact@spiketrendwatch.com with the page address. We review every report and fix confirmed errors, normally within 48 hours. Errors in a publisher's own story should be raised with that publisher; we update our listing when they correct it.
